OMRON ADEPT TECHNOLOGIES FRANCE | 2012

Conicio’s aim was to design and develop the preclinical proof of concept for a new generation of versatile medical robots. The Doc Calipso medical project relates to the production of a robot cell for the focused treatment of solid cancerous tumours on organs such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas or lungs. This new medical device has an integrated navigation system enabling the autonomous positioning of the treatment probe on a tumour thanks to a three dimensional geolocation system implanted into the organ to be treated.

Engineers made different experimental prototypes using an iterative R&D approach. In order to meet both aesthetic (acceptance by the patient and medical staff) and operational needs (ergonomy, hygiene), designers come up with a new bodywork to cover the robot cell.
